The most basic, yet also most widely used Internet connection technology available is that of dialup Internet access. NEDA Telecommunications has Patton dialup remote access servers.
These servers terminate up to 120 analog and digital modem calls from T1/E1 and PRI lines. We have already developed dialup networks in two of the major centres in Afghanistan; that of Mazar-e-Sharif and Kabul.
Another form of Internet connection also available in Afghanistan through us is that of Wireless Connectivity. With wireless technology it is possible to also develop Extranets utilized by corporate entities to extend their LANs between sites to WANs, known in full, as Wide Area Networks.
NEDA forms the hub centre allowing all the sites to connect to us through their method of networking. As such we become a gateway, regulating traffic between the sites and the Internet. We can also act in the capacity of a firewall between the multi-site networks and the Internet.
NEDA also offers clients a sophisticated WiMAX platform for industry standard broadband Internet connection. Clients get the benefit of interoperability and lower CPE costs. We make it possible for clients to get the benefit of roaming indoor and outdoor with the handheld device.
This enables the client to have wireless broadband Internet connection whenever and wherever they want. We launched the test fixed WiMAX network in Kabul in 2007 already and have since then extended the operation to cover 70% of Kabul.
Whether you require the most basic Internet connection, which may be slow, when compared to broadband, but rather cost effective and suitable for the home user or want a wireless broadband solution, we should be the Internet Service Provider of choice.
